Title: Anti-seizure meds
Post by oringkid on Jun 11th, 2002, 9:27am
Probably everybody knows this already, but a few weeks ago, I read a news blurb that said that long term use of anti-seizure drugs causes bone density loss.  It did not name specific drugs, so I went on a hunt.  I found many references to the fact that the anti-seizure drugs do in fact cause bone density loss, but again, no names.  Which led me to the conclusion that ALL anti-seizure drugs cause this.

Sooo....Especially the ladies on the board who have been on these meds(as we are naturally more susceptible to bone density loss as we get older), check with your doctor, have a bone density scan and find out what supplements to take to avoid this problem.

They said at least 6 months.

Here is the link to what brought it to my attention:

;D ;D OK Sherry.
I think it's time You and I had a little discussion about your posting style, you use the screen name oringkid, I don't know what this means but I think you might concider changing it to something more suiting to you, like deepthinkingkid or brainchild, get my drift? Your name lends us to draw a conclusion that your a kid at heart and here to play but it's plain to see from your depth or research that is not the case!
I'm going Public with this Sherry, I have lurked, keeping my opinion about you to my self for a long time now, well are you ready for this!
I am very impressed with your style and the amount of effort you have been putting in to try to help others, your post can sometimes be quite humorous but overall they are always informative, so "hjere it goes""
(Red Faced from Blushing) Trembling as I type this out---I LIKE YOU! Wheeeew, I'm glad to get that off my chest, just keep up the good work and I won't have to send the animal squad out after you too! LOL---Love Ya!

Wow!  Thank you Pappy!  I am now blushing!  (But, you may change your mind when you read my response to Ueli in Owls message LOL)

Unfortunately, I am no kid, but I have only ever had one nick-name in my life (o ring kid - cuz some earrings I had in the navy looked just like the o rings we used) and I kinda liked having a nick name.

Feel free to come up with a new nick name for me.  If I like it and it is from the heart, I will adopt it!  I have always felt that nick names (at least the ones that aren't derogatory) are a great way of showing your affection and regard for someone.

And I love Sail Pappy!  :-*

Love ya too!

To Be Announced
