Title: Imitrex Relief Post by johnrudd on Apr 16th, 2002, 8:38pm Episodic since '72, took DHE-45 since '87 and relieved in 15-45 min's; with residual (phantom headaches and took narcotics to relieve). Started Imitrex @ .5mg a week ago and total relief in 3-10 min w/ no residual or phantom headaches-narcotic free. Does anyone know what Imitrex actually does to the system and why it works? Not complaining about the effect, but would like to know if there's any adverse affect from taking-do .5mg a day and will so until I go into remission, which hope should be SOON. |

Title: Re: Imitrex Relief Post by johnrudd on Apr 17th, 2002, 5:15pm Thank you Greg. Should've said 6 mg of .5 mil from the vials. I really appreciate your quick response and the website was a great help. John |

Title: Re: Imitrex Relief Post by Greg_A on Apr 17th, 2002, 6:20pm Also too John-- you can use less than the 6mg by using the imitrex tip (button on the left) I have done it many times and found that i get the same relief using 1/3 or 1/2 a shot. Then again it depends on how bad my HA is at the time. Good luck |
