Title: Re: Nose Bleeds with indocin? Post by eyes_afire on Apr 11th, 2002, 3:40pm I believe anti-inflammatories tend to thin the blood, so it wouldn't surprise. I'm on Indocin and get nosebleeds (but I get nosebleeds even when not on Indocin ::)). Applying vinegar inside nostrils helps me stop the really bad nosebleeds. |

Title: Re: Nose Bleeds with indocin? Post by Karla on Apr 11th, 2002, 9:18pm I am on indocin 75mg 2x a day. I saw nothing in the insert on nose bleeding. Just bleeding ulcers. Talk with your dr or pharmacist and they could best advise you. I am having no problems with bleeding. Good luck. |

Title: Re: Nose Bleeds with indocin? Post by Marc on Apr 12th, 2002, 2:03pm For what it's worth..... I've tried as high as 200-300 mg of Indocin per day for months. No side effects as long as I ate food with it. My Doc said that it will not thin blood like aspirin. I don't know if he's right...... |

Title: Re: Nose Bleeds with indocin? Post by Tom on Apr 12th, 2002, 5:02pm Look at: www.rxlist.com/cgi/generic/indometh_ad.htm , the last topic there is "miscellaneous" where you'll find, as a possible side effect of indomethacin, "epistaxis" = the medical term for nosebleeding. Thomas |
