Title: ergotomine medihaler Post by Ken_V. on Apr 7th, 2002, 3:26am I just ran across a website about ergotomine and it said that you can get the inhaler in Canada. It used to be called Ergotomine Medi-haler. :o It was the best stuff to have aroumd for when those first few episodes hit you had something in your hand that could stop a cluster in less than 15 minutes full blown or not every single time. The only draw back was a risk of gangrene of the extremities if you took it more often than you were supposed to. I think it was good for like 3 headaches a week. But hey I still got all my fingers and toes. |

Title: Re: ergotomine medihaler Post by dougW on Apr 7th, 2002, 3:35pm Ken: Sorry, they quit making the ergotamine inhaler in Canada several years back. I agree, they were great, worked well for myslef. I understood the reason was "limited demand" and short shelf life. Personally, I use O2 and the occasional ergotamine tablet (cafergot). Not as fast as the inhaler, more ergot, therefore, you have to watch the daily/weekly dosage closely. Good luck Doug wright |

Title: Re: ergotomine medihaler Post by Bob_Johnson on Apr 10th, 2002, 9:35am Several years ago I was told that it was available in Australia but I never attempted to confirm this. Like Doug and you, I regret it being off the U.S. market--it was a fast fix! |

Title: Re: ergotomine medihaler Post by barbee on Apr 10th, 2002, 8:00pm [c Please be very careful and frugal with that ergotamine. I took it for about a year. It did lessen the frequency and intensity of the headaches. But now my fingers get totally numb, and turn white whenever the temp drops just a little. Hard to hold a golf club when that happens. |
