Title: Verap and Lithium Doses? Post by Greg_A on Apr 2nd, 2002, 7:39pm I'm currently taking 720mg of verapamil and 450mg of lithium and its not working. I'm going back to the VA doc next week and i plan on asking him to up both of them to see if i get any results. If not i want to stop taking them. What kind of doses is everyone else taking and does it work? I just want to get an idea. |

Title: Re: Verap and Lithium Doses? Post by Bob_P on Apr 2nd, 2002, 8:45pm Can't tell ya what dose will work for you but I do want to encourage you, and everyone else, to visit the OUCH site, click on "Surveys" in the nav bar and complete the verapamil surveys. We're working on a number of surveys to get good info on these types of questions. The O2 survey will probably be up this week. If you have other subjects on which a detailed survey would help give us some good statistics be sure to let me know. |

Title: Re: Verap and Lithium Doses? Post by Lee on Apr 2nd, 2002, 11:23pm Here is my routine, works for me 85% of the time. Lithobid sr (not regular lithium) 300 mg x 2 Verapamil er (generic) 240 mg x 2 Note: I have been informed that plain (not er) verapamil is more effective, however it didn't work for me. Keep O2 and Imitrex injections around for breakthroughs. Just my life experience, I still get clusters all the time but not nearly as bad as before. During really bad spells I bump the lithobid up to 300mg x 3. Hope the V.A. will work with you on all of this, lots of dollars. Lee |
