Title: Axert and Celebrex Post by Linda T on Mar 26th, 2002, 9:14pm Got an e-mail today from someone I don't know regarding CH. His (could be her) e-mail implied this person is either a doc or wants to appear to be one. E-mail had "MD" in the address. Typical story, ch, alot of drugs, nothing worked, etc. Until he/she found axert and celebrex. I have done some reading on axert so I'm o.k. with that, but celebrex? All I know is that this is arthritis med. I did search this board but found very few references to it. Maybe works for CPH, maybe not. So, anyone out there ever taken a combo of axert and celebrex? Did it work? Feedback appreciated! PFDAN always, Linda T. |

Title: Re: Axert and Celebrex Post by Ueli on Mar 27th, 2002, 8:23am Almotriptan malate (Axert / Almogran) is a Triptan with a half-life of 3 to 4 hours and is very similar to Naratriptan (Amerge / Naramig). Both are not kicking in fast enough to be of much use as CH-abortives, but are very useful as a short term preventative, to keep away the nightly attacks. Celecoxib (Celebrex) is a NSAID (NonSteroidal AntiInflammatory Drug). It is sometimes used instead of Indomethacin (Indocin), when the stomach trouble the later causes are more that can be tolerated.
