Title: At last - hallucinogenic treatment survey Post by Flash on Mar 15th, 2002, 4:16am First off the survey is currently in test format, that means you can use it, but you will need to resubmit your repsonses after we declare it officially open for business. The URL is: http://www.erowid.org/plants/mushrooms/survey/mushrooms_survey_headaches.shtml Pinky or myself will likely post the statisitics every so often. I must say a VERY B I G thankyou to a person called 'earth' from EROWID who took the time to build this on-line survey on our behalf... something that no CH sufferer could be bothered to do!!! For the next year at least my OUCH subscription fee goes to EROWID, cos they've done more to help promote this treatment than OUCH. Enjoy the survey. Flash |

Title: Re: At last - hallucinogenic treatment survey Post by dannyboy on Mar 15th, 2002, 7:49am About fucking time ... nice one!! Please don't forget that South Africa is a great place to get medical breakthroughs passed as we have close contacts with the MCC (Medicines Control Council) so long as a financial advantage can be linked to the breakthrough ... sorry all my cominust and socialist friends, new treaments that make no-one any money are very slow to spread to those that need them - thats the beauty of capitalism ... and no, no government is going to consider cluster headache medication as having similar distribution requirements to polio vaccines ... no religeon no politics! And well done for Speaking Out about OUCH's apathetic approach to research Long Live The Merry Pranksters |

Title: Time to toot my own horn. Post by Bob_P on Mar 15th, 2002, 9:52am Still can't get the facts straight Flash? Truth be told, I volunteered to build and host the survey long before Erowid. I was told no thanks because Bennie Sue was going to do it. So when you say "something no CH sufferer could be bothered to do", you are mistaken!!!!! |

Title: Re: At last - hallucinogenic treatment survey Post by Bob_P on Mar 15th, 2002, 11:44am And if you're open for comment: Sure would be nice to see the first sentance say "Cluster & vascular" headaches rather than "vascular & migraine" headaches. |

Title: Re: At last - hallucinogenic treatment survey Post by Flash on Mar 19th, 2002, 8:33am BobP, Several people volunteered - just nobody actually coughed up the goods (both yourself and Bennie Sue included). I run an IT company, and I didn't devote any of my software resources to producing the survey either, although that was partly because how I choose to treat my CH is not something I wish to disclose to my employees. What do you mean by "Still can't get the facts straight Flash"? The whole point of this survey is related to obtaining facts. Most people here are probably unaware that MAPS organised a research scientist to get the ball rolling regarding clinical trials. They require $10K to run the trial. Nobody here seems particularily interested in raising that money. In the meantime this survey is the best tool we've got. Flash |

Title: Re: At last - hallucinogenic treatment survey Post by Bob_P on Mar 19th, 2002, 8:43am By, not getting the facts straight, I mean: Quote:
I had not done surveys before but was willing to try. You said no thanks, since Bennie Sue had already done her personal survey, she had the tools and was going to do this one. That was the last I heard until you announced Erowid was going to do it. I do agree that the survey is good. I've advocated, from the beginning, that data needed to be collected if the shroom treatment was going to be taken seriously. I talked to a few doctors in the beginning, one of which is posted at Erowid, but all I could present them with was anecdotal information. Numbers will go a long way in pushing serious consideration of this treatment. Thanks for all your hard work in keeping this moving ahead Flash. Glad to see MAPS came down onthier price. When I talked to them, a year or two ago, they wanted $20 grand. |

Title: By the Way Post by Bob_P on Mar 19th, 2002, 10:20am Even though the shroom treatment didn't work for me, I did enjoy groovin' to Pink Floyd! http://pahlow.net/ch/archive/photos/bob.jpg Dang, I've got to hide that clusterhead smoosher page from Margi! |
