hi all

went to new neuro today. he was no help. anyway all he did was right some stuff down. most i heard of . depakote, topamax i heard of. some new stuff i don't know much about

Neurontin and Keppra are seizure meds. Pamelor is a antidepressant. i'll go to web md to search for side fx, but i searched the board, but didn't find any success stories on either of these seizure drugs. can people post short responses on success or failures. was it with verapamil or combined with something else? what dose worked? any severe side fx?

about me: 480mg verapamil daily. imitrex injections abortive, sometimes O2. lithium didn't work tried that. cafergot made me sick. imitrex nasal didn't work. scared of side fx of depakote, but might be going that way soon. two attacks a day currently one near 11am and one near 8pm (not always)

Hey Justin, Depakote had no adverse fx on me. I am on neurontin right now + maxalt and it is definitely chasing the beast. However, I'm noticing itchiness (on my lower leg right now. See how tomorrow goes.

kim , do you mean depakote didn't work. or it did work but no side effects. did you stop the depakote and go to neurontin. and are you just taking maxalt when you get the attacks or everyday as a prevent? how long have you been on neurontin?

jd: my neuro prescribed me depakote during an episodic ch cycle in 1998. He put me on Depakote, Imitrex nasal inhalent and midrin combo. I had waited until i was in total agony (mistake) to go to the dr. Sooooo, NO MEDICINE WORKED AT ALL. But, you could respond differently. Either way, i did not have any noticeable fx from the meds. Just contnued to be insane in pain. Didn't work. This cycle i called him EARLY ON and he prescribed me neurontin + mahalt. I have been taking it 4 days now. My chs are doing that thing they do. The cluster is gaining its own rythm despite meds. But i'm staying hopeful. Trying to patient...Good luck in whatever you decide! Let me know how it works out. Feel good jd. Kim

Justin - Keppra worked for me in conjunction w/ Topomax - Keppra 750 mgs 3 x's per day - Topomax 75 mgs 3 x's per day along w/ Calan 250 mgs 2 x's per day. Keppra made me loopy so caution while driving. Be patient and feel better soon. NotH20
