Title: Has anyone ever read about this? Post by chuckv on Feb 4th, 2008, 11:25am I have done alot of research on the web about different treatments and preventitives and they are all rpetty much the same. I ran in to a couple of sites though that suggested there may be surgery available to stop the headaches. It appears that the surgery is designed to stop the transmission across the nerve that causes the attacks. There appear to be some nasty side effects in some people, like Numbness on that side of your face. Has anyone else ever heard anything or read anything about this? Now that I have discovered O2, I'm not really ready to make that jump yet, but it is an interesting idea and certainly intriguing when you are out of remission. |

Title: Re: Has anyone ever read about this? Post by Guiseppi on Feb 4th, 2008, 11:40am It's been discussed a lot on the board. It is a very drastic step, there are numerous, serious side effects up to and including death, thus far the success rates are still in the single digits percentage wise. We all keep hoping they'll figure out what the little bugger is that's causing this, so with a snip and a stitch we can just be rid of it. Thus far no one's found the cure. Hang with the oxygen, for now it's one of the best "magic bullets' we've got! Guiseppi |
