Title: Taurine update Post by Barry_T_Coles on Jan 2nd, 2008, 5:55pm I’m still running with the Taurine Magnesium/calcium regime & getting some pretty good results. For the record: I got my first ever cycle back in Dec 1999 then had a 5 year break until Dec 2004 and went chronic from there. When Red Bull/Taurine was first mentioned on this board I did as much research into it as I could find & decided to give it a go, that was back in April 2006. I started with Taurine only 500mg X 3 time a day & got some varied results the best being getting my short term memory back but still got hit at least twice a week but the intensity was way below previous & never got over a KIP 5 or 6; Introduced the Magnesium into the regime about July 2006 when I realised that I needed something more in the mix and it gave me better results than previous then on October 2 2006 I got belted with a KIP 8 that came out of know where & hit me that fast I didn’t even have time to grab the RB or o2, it belted me for about 7 minutes & disappeared and that was the last for 244 days. Below is how things have panned out since: Day of last hit was 2/10/2006 with a PF break through to 20/6/2007 giving me 261 days of bliss. Then on 20/6/2007 I started a high cycle again that only lasted for 50 days through to 9/8/2007, this is the shortest ever high cycle for me. I’m currently sitting on 147 days PF & still only getting very mild shadows & periods of up to 4 days without a hint of anything. After the high cycle of 50 days I was getting a lot of muscle & joint pain & on discussing this with my Doc we worked out that the Magnesium was blocking out my calcium intake & this was causing the muscle/joint problem, I changed from straight Magnesium to a Magnesium/calcium combination but kept the Taurine as was & within a week all the pain was gone & I was a happy little vegemite. Is this my magic bullet? I don’t know but I’m not going to change anything. Cheers Barry PS: going bush for the rest of the day so wont be able to respond untill later.BC |

Title: Re: Taurine update Post by nani on Jan 3rd, 2008, 12:29am Thanks for the update, Barry. It sounds like it's working pretty well for you. I'm having mixed results with 2000 mgs a day (also with calcium/magnesium, thanks to your advice) I have something else going on concurrently, so the mixed results are more because of that I think. That's for another thread, though. :) |

Hi Laurie I'm currently on 500mg/day of each but that is changable to suit your own needs. Have a look at this thread & you'l see what I mean. http://www.clusterheadaches.com/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.cgi?board=meds;action=display;num=1200495589 Cheers Barry |
