Do flu shots have any effects on Cluster Headaches?

Never have for me. I"m CH episodic and get a shot every year. There has never been any CH reaction to them.

Daniel had the flu shot twice, last year during a cycle and this year when out of cycle, no effect noted.

I have migraines and have had flushot every year for the last 6-7 years or so, never had any effect on my migraine either.

Got a heavy sore arm for a couple of hours though :P

Haven't had a flu shot for a few years. I suppose I'd get one if there was a particularly virulent 1918-type thing floating around, but it's mostly been laziness on my part, and hubris.

Probably should have gotten one last year--I had a nasty bout with the flu. First time I've had the flu in beaucoup long time. It was foul.

No effect from the shot (or the flu) on CH that I've noticed.

I get the flu shot every year..(I work around a diseased clentele).....it's never effected me.

Thanks! Lisa needs one because of her asthma and it sounds like it's safe. Last year she had some issues but I think it was more coincidental. One of the doctor's told us that the flu mist is more likely to have side effects than the shot. She has been gettting them for at least 6 years now but hasn't had CH more than a year.

Activating the immune system might trigger in some people. But getting a cold or the flu is a much bigger stimulus to the immune system than a vaccine.
