Title: Re: allergy to imitrex Post by ski2k on Nov 16th, 2007, 8:05pm No idea about returning the meds, but I'd recommend using O2 as an abortive. Check out the oxygen info link on the left. It's been a superb abortive for me! Adam |

Title: Re: allergy to imitrex Post by Linda_Howell on Nov 16th, 2007, 9:53pm I wasn't aware that Imitrex was prescribed for Cerebral Palsy? :o The answer to your question however is No. No pharmacy will not refund for un-opened Trex. |

Title: Re: allergy to imitrex Post by Lizzie2 on Nov 17th, 2007, 11:41pm Linda, I think what she was saying is that a girl who attends her son's CP support group was just diagnosed with cluster headache...and not that she was prescribed imitrex for CP! That WOULD be scary!! hehe Hugz, Carrie :) P.S. Stacy - What sort of allergy? Sometimes people don't tolerate one triptan but can use another, but she would have to determine this with a physician. Has she tried oxygen? Not sure if she has any other health problems, but there are options out there. Wouldn't want to suggest energy drinks or other things with caffeine until we knew if she had health problems that would make those things dangerous. Read around the site though - as lots of people try a wide variety of things to help abort attacks. Oxygen comes to mind as the best thing to try to abort quickly, especially if imitrex cannot be used! Wouldn't think the pharmacy would refund unopened meds, but I don't know that one for sure. |

Title: Re: allergy to imitrex Post by stacy3675 on Nov 20th, 2007, 9:25pm Yes, the girl is in my sons suport group. She kept getting hives in the injection site so we thought it was just that but she also was getting rapid heart rate, sweating and irregular heart rate so she started flova i think is what she said she is trying to get o2 approved but her dr acted like that might a tad harder to do. |
