Title: newbie

Hi all, my wife recently started to complain about headaches ever since we returned from a trip to Europe last week. She hasn't seen a doctor yet (because she doesn't have health insurance until beginning of next year) but from our research it seems she very likely suffers from cluster headaches. She has them a couple of times a day and they sometimes last several hours. Fresh air seems to help her alot while the use of a laptop computer for only a short time seems to be a trigger for the recurring headaches. I've read on these message boards that oxygen may be a good way to help get over attacks. Where can we buy canned oxygen? Pharmacies, a GNC store maybe? Can anyone recommend a good online mail order?

nevermind my first post about "canned oxygen." I just read the oxygen info on this page and it seems it'll have to wait until an insurance will cover it.

No worries, you have much to read and learn. An accurate diagnosis is critical for any hope of managing the pain. There are hundreds of headache types, and many overlap. Take the headache quiz on the left, start keeping a headache diary and get in to see a headache specialist/neuro as soon as you can.

If you do get a diagnosis of CH then this will be your new second home. Until you can get in to the neuro, try slamming an energy drink containing caffeine and taurine, Rock Star, Monster, etc. Taken at the first sign of an attack many can abort a hit. Tell her to avoid alcohol and any narcotic pain killers, these are triggers for many of us. Let us know how it turns out!
