Title: Benadryl
Post by sandie99 on Oct 12th, 2007, 11:59am
I've read that benadryl can help with ch. I just found out that it's available here, too.

My question: how many grams of benadryl helps? The one in here is 8 mgs; 12 tablet pack is available for all, 96 tabs pack is available with perscription.

Thanks in advance,
Sanna

Hi..

I was told to take 50 mg of benedryl two or three times a day but the tablets that they sell here are 25 mg. I would check the amount of Diphenhydramine in your benedryl compared to ours here since the mg is smaller there.

Did that make sense?

They also make benedryl injections and the package says that it is made by an international distributor and they make benedryl as strips that dissolve on the tongue. Both are faster than the pills.

Hope that this helps.

Jill

it sounds like the dosage in the UK is different than the USA.
Here, Benadryl comes in 25 and 50mg.  I generally take 50mg each nite along with 7.5mg of melatonin.

That's what the ER pumped into my IV on my last visit - along with Reglan.

It did a great job of knocking me out - and the beast with it.

For a few hours, at least. I went from a kip9 down to a 4, then back up to 7 / 8 (with lots of excedrin).

YMMV - as with all treatments.
