Title: Re: 02 on the rocks Post by DennisM1045 on Sep 5th, 2007, 7:32pm I can't help you locating a bubbler but I can share the Kool O2 tip. Jonny shared it with me after learning from Bob Kipple. You take a pan or bucket, coil up 3 feet (1 meter) of your air hose in the bottom. Fill the bucket with a little water and a lot of ice. 8) I've also heard of putting ice in the bubbler itself. -Dennis- |

Title: Re: 02 on the rocks Post by southwalessunshine on Sep 6th, 2007, 3:00am Yeah I heard of putting ice in the bubbler and thought it was called 02 on the rocks. Still no luck with locating one though. But the tip you gave me will def be an option whilst I'm searching. Thanks x |

Title: Re: 02 on the rocks Post by Emily on Oct 7th, 2007, 6:06pm Did you have any luck with finding a bubbler? My 02 has been delivered, but I just have the tank, a mask and a very short hose. Is this all I need, or should I be asking for a bubbler. Only used the 02 once and it did make me cough for a bit afterwards. Can we get clustermasx here in the UK? |

Title: Re: 02 on the rocks Post by assaultme on Oct 7th, 2007, 6:19pm I have something that may help. It's kinda Frankenstien, but here goes... I use a vacuum pump to do brake bleeding on cars & motorcycles. These hand-held vacuum pumps have a small container just like a bubbler on a medical rig. I think the hose from my regulator could easily be cut and slid on the nipples of this container. See, the air goes in one side (pressure side) and goes to the bottom of the container. The other (exit) nipple that goes to your mask exits the container thru the top. Therefore, the gas bubbles thru the liquid while it travels cleanly to your mask. I would assume The UK has auto stores just like us and you could get a replacement bottle at any auto store. Here is a link: http://www.mityvac.com/pages/products_a.asp Scroll down till you see this: "MVA6909 4.5 oz Fluid Reservoir Kit Use in-line with Mityvac hand vacuum/pressure pumps, to collect or dispense fluid. Replaces standard 4.5 oz. reservoirs included with hand pump kits." It is safe. Made of plastic and brand new...could easily be used. Hope that helps. p.s. Honestly, you could make your own out of a baby food jar, a couple of 90 degree plastic hose barbs and a short piece of poly tubing. Simple design & concept. You can look at the one on the link and see how it works and is constructed. Cheers, Dave |

Title: Re: 02 on the rocks Post by southwalessunshine on Oct 8th, 2007, 9:20am I did get a bubbler but I didn't purchase it here. Thank you once again Linda xxx The trick with the 02 I have found is that you have just gotta get through the uncomfy part to gain any benefits. You may cough and you will definatley feel claustrophobic and as if you may be suffocating but the literature that tells you how to take 02 100% properly says this must happen. It's real hard to get the 28 breaths per minute when you have a pounding head though. So I only use 02 on anything that's a KIP 5 or under as it distresses me too much concentrating on the breathing and the uncomfortable feelings. Good luck though x |
