Title: This can really help you
Post by assaultme on Sep 4th, 2007, 8:09pm
YEAH !!!! Just got back from the health club and I feel slammin' !!!!

I know how CH can slap you down. It's a serious mental drain. I have something that may be able to help some of you:

Are you over weight? man boobs? When you stand on the corner, do the Police drive by and tell you  to "break it up"  [smiley=laugh.gif]

Jokes aside, I feel like a million bucks today. You can too.
Firstly, I am not interested in athletic stuff. I don't really like my heart rate so high I think it's gonna bust outta my chest. I could easily pig on fatty foods and use excuses for why I don't think exercise would help me.

About a year ago, I was 20 pounds over weight. I felt sluggish, tired and hideous.
I started at a gym. In only 2 months I felt different. No more going "uhh" getting on the fork truck. Lost 15 pounds (with a healthy diet) and got back lost energy from age.

Here are more benefits: your body metabolism (so to speak) will not only increase, it will form a new "baseline" eventually. Your body's baseline is the "norm" that the body is used to operating at. This baseline is a combination of diet and activity that your body becomes accustomed to over a long period of time.  The body will always try to get back to it's "normal" baseline.

This is why starvation diets DO NOT WORK. To change this baseline, you must take the time to change the way your body is accustomed to subsisting. You must be committed to spending the time and energy necessary to actually augment this baseline. That is another reason people lose weight, only to gain and lose hope.  Diet pills are complete B.S. so are: fad diets, starvation diets, adkins chicken leg diet, and the belief that we'll have the deficit whittled down in a hundred years.

Here were MY reasons to not go to a gym:
I look like crap, it is embarrassing to bounce around the track. It is too much work for the little benefit you receive. It costs too much.

WRONG!!!! It only costs an average of maybe $30-$50 a month. Cheap way to feel good. Secondly, nobody gives a crap about your belly. Most people are in your boat. The ones who are not understand what you are trying to do and are usually ready to give good advise. Most clubs have a personal trainer who will help you set up a good training regiment. (which I highly recommend)

 Want more benefits?
Ok, when you do your workout after work, you come home and eat dinner. The food you now eat is metabolized way faster than before. This means you are not hungry and you process food more efficiently.

Wait, I ain't done yet. Mentally. you will improve. You look better, so you feel better....in your mind. CH can cause serious despair. What I have told you may not make your whole life perfect, but it can help a bunch. It helps me every day.

Unfortunately  some here may not be able to push it, cause it causes unmanageable attacks. But if you can, you will feel better...I guarantee it.

  Cheers, Dave

Nice going Dave.

Well...One thing that makes some sense is that sudden physical activity affects circulation which has a lot to do with this horror.  Doing something that forces muscles to need some blood, alters blood flow. One guy does this by standing barefoot on a concrete floor. It makes sense to me. Cold feet will definitely affect circulation. This kind of thing can very much shorten hits.

On weight loss: I lost 17 pounds in May and June by almost eliminating carbohydrates. It always works for me. Carbs make you feel hungry too.

I always hated gym. http://www.netsync.net/users/charlies/gifs/treadmill.gif

Absolutely outstanding Charlie !!!!

It was my first time back & I was scared about causing an attack. But I thought: Jeez, quit being a crybaby.....just let er rip. I got lucky and ran even better than before.

Of course my 19 year old son still reminds me his mile is 6 min. and mine is....oh yeah, timed on a calendar  [smiley=laugh.gif]

Little weenie, think I'll put em in a head lock  [smiley=laugh.gif]
