I always knew that both Decadron & solu Medrol were powerful steroids, but I didn't really know the differences in between them.

Today, another neuro came in to see my this morning since my regular doc was out. He said that 10mg of Decadron is about equivelant to 1000mg of Solu Medrol. (That's a HUGE dose!) .

That still doesn't tell me alot about the differences, but it does put the dosings in a new perspective.

Chemically the only difference: a hydrogen is substituted by a fluorine atom :P
Your doc was right Decadron's "horse-kick dose" is about 8-10 mg. But in my opinion there are not differences in side effects :-/

Thanks for clearing that up for me Steve. Now all I have to do is figure out what a 'fluorine atom' is ! :o j/k

I know the side effects are very similar if not the same (Except for the booty itch part ! LMAO )

I cant seem to pull up from the archives,i did a post on decadron (3,4 or5 years ago)...Very strong stuff...The whole time i was on it the beast was afraid to visit,it was appr. 1 or 2 days after i was done with the taper that many bad things happened to me...
1) steroid "acne"..my face,scalp,chest,back,neck.finally got rid of that after about 3 months or so if i recall correct...

2) my puffy cheeks never left...

3) for appr.2 weeks my mind was working in VERY slow motion(this whole time i would say that my hearing was about 75% aswell) if i were to have a debate with some drywall at the time...the drywall would have won :o :o

4) again this all started to happen once i was done with my taper...

5) hopefully you will not have any of these problems with it,oh yeah make sure that the fridge is well packed,you will need it...i dont recall how much i was taking but if anyone knows how to retreive the archives i am sure that (almost sure)i wrote of how much that i was on...
6) BTW...as far as the ass scratch,i guess i lucked out on that one [smiley=laugh.gif] [smiley=laugh.gif]
