Title: How many mg caffeine in Red Bull?
Post by swimchica623 on Apr 15th, 2007, 4:47pm
Does anyone know how many mg of caffeine are in a regular can of Red Bull?  Crystal light makes these packets of energy caffinated powder drinks, the kind you mix into water.  I thought about mixing a packet (or two if necessary) of that into a smaller amount of water and drinking it super concentrated, sorta like a shot of caffeine, to get it in me in a faster, less disgusting (I hate the taste!), cheaper, less burpy way.
One packet (which should go in 16oz) has 120mg, I think, but I'm too lazy to double check now...coffee has 90mg but I also don't feel like double checking this right now!
Also if I tried this, would I be missing out by not getting the taurine and vitamins in the Red Bull?

Less than a Starbucks double espresso.

Lisa, you might want to think about taking a 1,000 mg taurine capsule with it when you do. It seems it's the combination of caffeine and taurine that helps CH'ers the most.

Thought it was the combo, not the straight up caffiene.  Still think a taurine capsule and crystal light energy packet might be better for me...I can't stand the taste of red bull and how it makes me burp when I chug it!
Thanks for the help, both of ya.  :)
Lisa
