Title: Stadol NS use question.
Post by Skyhawk5 on Apr 6th, 2007, 10:26pm
Stadol is the only med I've found that will prevent me from vomiting during K-9-10's and does stop some hits.

My question? Does it matter what side you use it on? I'm a left side CH'r but I always spray the right side without thinking that maybe the pain side should be sprayed. Neuro said it shouldn't matter.    ??

Most that use nasal sprays, try to do it on the effected side, but due to congestion, others use the other side.  Try each, and use what works for you.

Good luck!

Stadol NS can be very addicting.  I wouldn't recommend this for long term use. You should probably try to find an alternative.

Goodluck

Because of congestion I usually use it on the other side.

Regardless of my congestion, the Stadol NS works very well on either side.  The only thing I've noticed is that when I administer it on the CH side, it may take a "tad" longer to start working.  If the attack is bad enough that you need 2 doses, definitely be sure to administer one dose in each nostril.

Otherwise, BE VERY CAREFUL with the Stadol.  It is HIGHLY addictive with continued use.  Furthermore, the longer and more often you use it, the less effective it becomes.

I've found that I can dilute it with plain old saline solution, stretching it longer and reducing my chances of addiction.  The drug is still very effective when diluted.

There are several useful meds which you can use to prevent vomiting which do not carry the risk of regular Stadol use.

Hope you have reviewed:
