Title: Intelligent Discourse
Post by Virginian on Feb 1st, 2007, 3:43am
As someone else on these boards noted, albeit in a negative way, the folks posting here seem to be above average in intelligence.

Does anyone see a connection between CH and intelligence?

Does anyone think stress is a dominant factor?

I enjoy the posts, especially on these nights after surviving another "wake me from the dead" HAs that blossom to a 8 or 9.  37th day of cycle.

I take Depakote ER and also Red Bull for those mid -night HAs.  Bull helps me some if caught in earliest stages.

Hang tough all.

Well, one thing I'm a little more sure of is that there seems to be a correlation between intelligence and owning/using a computer. Could be that our brothers and sisters in pain who are below average intelligence don't post here because they don't own or use a computer.

Just a thought.

IMHO (which in my universe is correct) humor-the ability to not take stuff too seriously-is corelated to intelligence.  There are some seriously funny people on this board, so that speaks well for their intelligence.
And laughter does improve alot of things (like stress level, endorphins).
That said, I have to agree with Wilbur that the only folks that post here have enough intelligence to use a computer and in fact, have access to a computer.  If 1% of the worlds population has CH, then there are alot of people in alot of places who don't know anything about CH.
Not due to lack of intelligence but lack of resources.

Can’t remember where, but I read somewhere that an old nickname for cluster headache was “executive headache,”  beause it seemed that many clusterheads were bosses, administrators, people of high energy and intelligence in general. Of course back then they also thought we were all tall with square heads and ‘Leonine” features, and the male female ratio was 10 to 1.

Well just how bright do you have to be to pound your head on a post?

Phil,
Is this a rhetorical question?  Because I think I know the answer....
you must be 10% smarter than the post.

You are very welcomed.

Does the head strike the post, or does the post strike the head?

When you can answer this question, Grasshopper, your training will be completed.

Sly devil you, is this an attempt to butter us up? ;;D

I have read this on several occasions.  I've also seen references to "driven personalities" and "over achievers" along with some less attractive descriptions that don't deserve repeating.

Personally I am more partial to the drywall than to a post.  That, I must add, does not mean I am a bigoted  against posts of any color, race, religion, etc. I just like to consider myself 10% smarter than a wall.

Having read these boards for almost 9 years and met personally many many people at conventions and get-togethers, I have to say that the raio of intelligence among us is very high.  As is the sense of humor already mentioned.
At the convention in Vancouver our dear Italian friend Riccardo even brought up to the learned neurologist who was speaking....the fact that we also seem to be more highly sexed as well.  (much to the Doctors chagrin)  [smiley=laugh.gif]

Too bad floridian isn't here to discuss this.  I'd really like to hear what he has to say on the subject.

Linda,
You certainly ARE 10% smarter than dry wall.  So there.
As the existence of posts is basically existential and relative, not to mention(based on String theory) vibrating at a different frequency than dry wall, I recommend you stick with the dry wall.  As a semi-compassionate humanoid, however, I would really prefer than no one here felt the need to bang their heads on anything.
IMHO and all that rot,

Padded drywall at that. I love Linda's closet! Its all there:drywall,pad,02,custom trex holders.
I'm remodeling when I get home to make my closet my CH friendly. ;) Only smart people would pad their head bangin wall.
