Title: clustotab Post by Fr._Joe on Jan 30th, 2007, 8:35pm Hi everyone. A friend came across this site today. Any thoughts, comments? I know nothing about the ingredients, so I would greatly appreciate your input. I guess like all of us, I tend to look at everything a little skepticaly. It looks expensive, so that is currently a concern for me, but if it might work, as you all know, anything is worth it. Thanks. http://clustotab.com Joe |

Title: Re: clustotab Post by Fr._Joe on Jan 30th, 2007, 8:46pm I just noticed that there is a link on the bottom of this page. I did some more looking around, and the link is also on WebMD. It look like the company is in Scottland. |

Title: Re: clustotab Post by brewcrew on Jan 30th, 2007, 8:50pm Well, Rich, since I'm behind a pretty iron-clad firewall at work, I braved the elements and clicked away. Here's what it says: Clustotab is a completely guaranteed and clinically proven herbal treatment for Cluster Headache. It consists of a formulation consisting of purely natural ingredients based on the Unani (Greek) system of herbal medicine blended together in a specific proportion to fight and treat Cluster Headache effectively. Thousands of patients have been successfully treated with Clustotab over the past few years. Clustotab is a completely outstanding product and there is absolutely no alternative to its unique formula. Had the effectiveness of Clustotab not been proven beyond any doubt, it would not be possible for us to make such a bold claim. The main ingredients of Clustotab tablets are: Rauwalfia Serpentina Santalum Album Coriandrum Sativum Base QS The exact proportion of each ingredient has been deliberately kept secret to avoid imitations of our confidential formula. Treatment with Clustotab is very rapid obvious results can be noticed within one month (30 days) of use. A complete course of treatment lasts two months. Clustotab is taken in an oral pill form and the normal dosage is two tablets twice a day, mornings and evenings. There are absolutely no side effects and the treatment is safe and sold over the counter. Clustotab comes for a fixed price of $79 for a one month supply and can be ordered from our website by clicking here. We do not charge any shipping price. Treatment with Clustotab is fully guaranteed. We are so confidant about the effectiveness of Clustotab, that in the rare case you remain unsatisfied with the improvement in your condition, you may simply return the empty packaging and claim a refund of the amount you paid us. Since all payments are made via credit card directly to CCNOW (our credit card processing company), your money is completely safe. CCNOW will ensure that we honor all claims for refund. The only condition is that you have to be persistent in your treatment with Clustotab for two months (60 days). Skipping pills or being irregular will only delay the treatment. Keep Clustotab stored in a cool dry place away from the reach of children. ------------------------------------------------ I dunno. Beats the shit out of me. If it sounds too good to be true, it is. |

Title: Re: clustotab Post by georgej on Jan 30th, 2007, 9:15pm Rauwalfia Serpentina= "Indian Snakeroot". Santalum Album="White Sandalwood". Coriandrum Sativum="Coriander"--the culinary herb. Never heard of clustotabs. Best, George |

$79 a month for 2 months. A little research would show that atypical episodic Clusterhead cycles last around 8 weeks. You take those pills for your 2 month cycle and your CH's end. Problem is, now you think those pills are the magic cure to stop a cycle and you won't even ask for a refund. ::) |

Title: Re: clustotab Post by RichardN on Jan 30th, 2007, 10:09pm I think you're right BlueMeanie. Also noticed they said you could "claim" a refund, rather than RECEIVE a refund. (Sorry to shout . . . never learned how to do italics) Richard |

What’s the betting the study is never posted? The Scottish postal address is a mail-box (Mailboxes Etc UK) and a UK google of "Scotland Health Solutions" (the purported company name) came up with nothing. Finally, their style of writing is certainly not UK based. I also think someones trying to make a few fast bucks based on the cyclical nature of our syndrome; but I hope I'm wrong. -Lee |

Title: Re: clustotab Post by floridian on Jan 31st, 2007, 11:35am Curious that one ingredient is Rauwolfia, which contains a chemical called reserpine. Injections of reserpine can trigger migraine, according to Goadsby and others (and I presume it might also trigger CH). Not sure if smaller, repetitive doses could desensitize one to the same effect, or what effects the other ingredients have. Any word on the amount of Rauwolfia in the preparation? Some reason for scepticism - especially for episodic CH. Could it have an effect on chronics, or people with migraine? Maybe - not enough information given. There are elements here that sound fishy, but not really sure. Quote:

Thousands? Bullshit. This site has been the #1 CH site of the universe for at least 7 years. If this stuff is so great how come we are just now hearing about it? IMHO clustotab is a scam. |

Title: Re: clustotab Post by georgej on Jan 31st, 2007, 5:22pm If this stuff really does contain Rauwalfia..... http://www.drugs.com/MTM/reserpine.html Reserpine apparently has a narrow therapeutic window, and a great many drug interactions. It has been banned for therapeutic use in a number of countries. An herbal concoction that contains an unknown percentage of reserpine is not something that I, personally, would choose to ingest. YMMV. Best, George |

Title: Re: clustotab Post by floridian on Jan 31st, 2007, 6:22pm Purified reserpine is a tricky, and often nasty chemical. Whole Rauwolfia is more balanced - it contains other chemicals that offset the negative effects of reserpine. Quote:
My original question about the dosage was linked to this - some countries regulate Rauwolfia but allow a very weak homeopathic dose, which is unlikely to have an effect in my opinion. |

Title: Re: clustotab Post by MaxPayne on Feb 28th, 2007, 5:25am I get so fucking pissed at ppl that try to get rich on other ppls misery. First of all it says that it takes 2 months to reach full effect, MAN I would be going crazy after just one week. For episodic sufferers it would be just stupid as (At least for me) the cycle usually ends after 8 - 12 weeks. The beast wont back down from a pill made from beetroot, grass seeds and whatnot. Stay away from it is my advise. I think it says it all that they haven't put up a clinical study yet. Here is a link to what homeopathy will do to you if you try it (Poor bastard). http://www.abchomeopathy.com/forum2.php/4971/ |
