Title: Re: Link to a drug/herb/food interaction checker Post by froggy on Jan 17th, 2007, 10:29pm Mike, The link you suggested is going to come in very handy. We're always calling our pharmacist about interactions. Thanks |

Title: Re: Link to a drug/herb/food interaction checker Post by Karla on Jan 18th, 2007, 9:11am I typed in at least three known drug interactions and it didn't catch it. One for example is zyprexa (or any known antiphycotic) and melatonin. Another was the fentanyl patch and alcohol (duh and yes I had the drug and alcohol box checked). Another was antiphycotics and imitrex(can cause seritonin uptake syndrome). I guess I will rely on my pharmacist and drs. |

Title: Re: Link to a drug/herb/food interaction checker Post by kcopelin on Jan 18th, 2007, 9:24am I checked Zomig and Celexa-got a warning about excess serotonin reaction. Good resource, never a bad idea to get a second opinion. PFDAN y'all kathy |

Title: Re: Link to a drug/herb/food interaction checker Post by miker6565 on Jan 19th, 2007, 1:43pm The only thing i found on zyprexa and melatonin,,was excessive drowsiness,,I have used zyprexa with some relief,, The link, I used before ,when i was adding herbal suppliments to my regimen while using meds since herbs arent regulated the dr or pharmisist doesnt know your on them unless you tell them It is just a guide only... Always tell your dr and pharmisist about any over the counter substinses you might be trying or any meds you may have gotten as samples or from a differnt pharmacy Most (not all) pharmecy's have an interaction checker... Peace always, mike |
