Title: Oxygen And Diagnoses?
Post by Ob1kanobee on Jan 14th, 2007, 8:59pm
I'm just curious. Has anyone ever heard of Oxygen working on other types of headaches the way it works for the majority of Cluster Headache sufferers?

The reason why I ask is say you take the Cluster Quiz and you feel you fall into the Cluster Headache Category (but your still not 100% sure).

Say you go to the Doctor and they diagnose you with Cluster Headaches (most likely they say) and lets just say this is a very competent Doctor (yet Doctors are not Gods so your still not 100% sure).

However, when you do the Oxygen therapy utalizing proper technique and a Clustermasx you get an abort of the headache (on several occasions), is it safe to say you definately have Cluster Headaches?

The reason why I ask/bring this up, is if Oxygen relieves only Clusters, then an easy diagnoses could be made after a few successful aborts?

Also, does anybody know whether a Cluster can morph into another type of headache? The reason why I ask is that I have aborted a few Clusters so far with O2, only to end up with a dull headache that lasts for hours, which I would describe as a sinus/allergy headache with some stiff neck as well.

The few times this has happened though, I have looked back to see if I did anything different, and my conclusion was I did not hit the O2 in time.

02 works really well for my migraines and hangovers too and many others have found the same so it definitely isn't a diagnostic tool.

and yes, CH can morph, and you can have more than one headache type at a time, many here do.
the "dull headache" afterwards could just be a CH "shadow" though or even a rebound HA if the first wasn't fully aborted.

The slower you are to start 02, usually the less effective it is, hit hard and fast is the usual rule
