Title: Melatonin
Post by findjoshua on Jan 8th, 2007, 5:17am
Well, last night I took Melatonin 9mg about 1/2 hour before bed and was able to  make it through the night.  I've heard that this can take time to build up, so I'm not sure if it was beginner's luck or just dumb luck, but either way, I'll take it. :)         I'll try for 2 for 2 tonight.

This week's promises to myself (get 02 refill, go to neuro for preventative therapy options and maybe different abortives)

Does anyone know of any CH drug that is dispensed in MORE than a few doses at a time.  I've gotten Maxalt and Imitrex but it seems they give you so few, never like, a bottle of this or a month's of that like with other drugs.

Might have the doc amend the script to call for more than one box of trex at a time.

thanks to everyone on this site.

I have had good results with melatonin.  You might have to get your doctor to write a letter of medical necessity to the insurance company if you want a larger supply of imitrex or maxalt. For some, these triptans provide good relief; for others, there is a concern that they may extend a cycle.

Verapamil, lithium, olanzapine and some other meds are usually prescribed in 'normal' amounts (for daily use, a month at a time).  Prednisone and other corticosteroids should only be taken as a short term taper, but can break a cycle in many episodics.
