Title: nerve block Post by bowles96 on Nov 29th, 2006, 11:18pm My doc is talking about doing a nerve block in treating my clusters. Has anyone else had this done? Need some info before he calls tomorrow to set time. Real nerves never been a big fan on any meds! Paul |

Title: Re: nerve block Post by Gator on Nov 29th, 2006, 11:56pm I had an Occipital Nerve Block a couple years ago. Did nothing for me. Others have had varying degrees of results. Definitely worth a shot. |

Title: Re: nerve block Post by taraann on Nov 30th, 2006, 1:15am I've had the Occipital Nerve block also... more than once over the years. The last time it may have helped but I also was at the end of a 2 week stay in the hospital on DHE...... not sure if it was the block the IV or just coincidence that the beast finally decided to give me a break.... It's not really painful to get it done...it's very quick and it will make you have numbness up the back of your head for a little while.......worth the "shot" ;) |

Title: Re: nerve block Post by clavers on Nov 30th, 2006, 9:27am I have had this done four or five times. Sometimes it will prevent a CH for up to 8 hours. It makes you walk funny. It is worth a try, but don't look for a miracle cure. |

Title: Re: nerve block Post by FramCire on Dec 2nd, 2006, 12:29am I have had 2. They worked for 3 or 4 days and 6 days. They are relatively simple and easy. I hate needles but I have also had shots into my back for pain in the past so this was much easier. For me it was a little alcohol on the site (or whatever to sterilize). He then pushed to find the spot and injected. Stung for a few seconds. Then came some numbness in my head and I drove home right away. They are rather safe and not too much pain. Worth a shot in my book. |
