Hi people, seeing my neuro next Tuesday & my GP said yesterday he has been having a lot of succes with Topomax, So I may ask him to put me on this.

Currently on 480mg Verap & the bloody things are still hitting me. Doctor wont up the Verap until I see my neauro next week.

So, this is a preventive I take it?

Also has anyone had any success with this??

Hi Paul,

The Topamax did not work for me, but I know that others here have had some success. Actually, I probably did not give it a fair chance because it made me almost comatose at what would be considered low levels.

Certainly worth a try.

Reading the other post, some of the side effects sound quite horriffic, good god! :o

It has worked for a minority.. but for me it was the single worst experience of my entire life and believe me when I say I've had a few moments :-/

Cheers people, fuck this, I think im just going to tell him to up my verap from 480mg to 720 & see if that works :-/

Good luck hon, we're all here if you need us. Bear in mind alot of people are up to 960mg on verap, its worth sticking with until you find your level

I'm guessing you read my post about Topamax. If not, look for it. I've had a few people tell me about their bad sides and that it didn't work for them. I'm still on it and going up to 300mg today, well it'll be tonight actually. I haven't had too many bad sides so far, just problems thinking clearing. That fades once I get used to the drug. Unfortunately, I don't think it's helping me at with my CH. It's also VERY expensive, at least in the States it is. I don't know what it'll cost you in Great Britain.

Bond, I *thought* I was adjusting to dopeymax while taking it - it was only an illusion. I had trouble finding words like up or down...my motivations was killed.

The CH pain was killed, but I couldn't go on for several reasons. But afterwards, after the fog lifted, I realized my wife was right and I wasn't the same person mentally.
