Title: Ativan? Post by BlaineD on Sep 24th, 2006, 7:57pm Has anyone heard of Ativan working to relieve CH? Or inducing more pain? I would assume more pain, because its a sleeping medication, and I have heard that sleep induces attacks. Just curious though. |

Ah yes, thats what it was, you are right BigCoffinHunter, it is REM sleep thank you. This drug helps insomniacs (my being one) sleep. Now I am not a clusterhead, just a supporter so I was just curious to know if anyone has found relief, or pain |

Title: Re: Ativan? Post by bothofus on Sep 25th, 2006, 4:22am Hello, I was once prescribed ativan to counterattack vertigo brought on by an inner ear condition. It was the pill that dissolves in your mouth. Actually that was just earlier this year. I believe it is initially prescribed for anxiety. Didn't make me sleepy, but it could be a side effect of the drug. Hey, whatever works though right? Carl |

Hey Carl, Yes you are right, Ativan is prescribed for anxeity and seizures. And a common side effect (depending on the dosage) makes you extremely drowzy. However, I am curious to know if Ativan has ever relieved or induced pain in a CHer. Thank you though Carl, for pointing out my ridiculous mistake, I should have done my homework a little better ;) Blaine |

Title: Re: Ativan? Post by bothofus on Sep 26th, 2006, 4:47am I didn't mean to imply that you made a ridiculous mistake. Not at all, no no no...... :o I was just adding my 2 cents worth. When I saw the topic ativan, I immediately had to see what ya had to say about it. Sorry I can't help with the question about it working to relieve CH, as I've not used it since before this cycle started. PFDAN to ya BlaineD |

Title: Re: Ativan? Post by mynm156 on Sep 27th, 2006, 4:45pm Ativan is not a Sleep med. Its a antianxiety med. Like Valium! It can relax you and then help facilitate sleep but that is not what it does. |
