Title: Mushroom question
Post by kurtr1 on Sep 17th, 2006, 12:11pm
I have had chronic clusters since two and half years ago when I had a molar extraction.
My clusters are starting to break through Verapamil now so I wish to try Mushrooms and have read the clusterbusters info.
I live in CA so I guess the only option is to have a friend from out of state ship the spores?
Any other advise appreciated.
Thanks.....
Kurt

Hi Kurt,

The molar extraction is interessting.  Was the extraction for an upper wisdom tooth and did it require oral surgury?  My CH started prior to a similar extraction over 10 years ago so I'm not sure the surjury was the cause but somethinng happened in that area.

Have you tried 100% O2 at 10 l/m?  Works great in aborting CH.  I've been on Neurontin (gabapentin) for over 10 days now and it's wonderful.

Good luck with the mushroom spores.

V/R, Batch

Batch,

Yes. It was upper molar number three and yes there are papers by Neurologists that say the this can cause chronic clusters.
I have not used oxygen, I need to try that and I will look into the gabapentin. The mushrooms are my primary interest now because they seem to terminate the cycle for a longer period......

Thanks,
Kurt

It is like the chicken or the egg thing. I had my bottom molar pulled years ago because they thought the pain in my jaw was the tooth. Guess what NOT!! It was ch. They pulled the wrong tooth. And I am not the only one on these boards who could tell that story.  >:(

My headaches started about 3 months after haveing the same tooth removed via oral surgery.
The tooth was badly cracked though
