I know this link appears in a thread on the general board but its a bit hidden and I think it should appear in this section also.

Dropping acid may help headaches

We need to study the effect of powerful hallucinogens such as LSD
(lysergic acid diethylamide) and psilocybin, the active ingredient in
'magic' mushrooms, on debilitating cluster headaches, researchers say.

Read the rest of the article on the link above. Feel free to post comments onto the linked Newsblog. The more interest the article generates, the better the possibility of his bosses asking him to do a much more in depth piece. (which he hopes to do)

Also, I heard (I never saw the post) that the author of this article posted somewhere looking to speak with sufferers for the article.
He was genuine..here is his bio:

Arran Frood, Nature Web Editor, London

Arran joined Nature in June 2005 after working at the Science Photo Library and writing freelance news and features for New Scientist, Focus, and BBC Online. Something of a science media all-rounder, he has also created educational online games for The Royal Institution Christmas Lectures website and has contributed to a book on the human body. He has an MSc in entomology from Imperial College, which fired an unusual interest in ants that he often indulges when travelling abroad.

Thanks for the info Bob. I found it a bit funny how the old hippie term "dropping acid" found it's way in the headline. Still good publicity. Next time ,the cover of Newsweek.
take care

Thank you BobW. One step at the time, I'm sure that something good will come out of this. Lets not forget A. Sewell  et al.
Best wishes to you all

Allot of hard work by caring people is what's bringing this about.
I for one thank all you 'risk takers' for the love you show to fellow sufferers, you know who you are.

Congratulations to Arran for contributing in a loooong worthy tradition for young people, started by Michael Faraday along with the Friday Evening Discourse in 1826.
The Friday Discourses were started to raise money for the struggling institution, inviting the public to hear the cutting edge of science for a small fee.  It was huge hit and constant sell out, improving salon talk too.   ;)
That same year he also started the Christmas Lectures for the young and highly inspired many.  Faraday, a tremendously nice gentleman, lectured 123 Friday Discourses and 19 Christimas Lectures from 1826 - 1862, always impromptu, including the Friday night April 3, 1846 lecture when he laid out the basis of the modern electrodynamic theory of light to the crowd, off the cuff.

Thanks, Bob and all the clusterbusters!

The publicity from this study is extremely valuable. For the first time I am noticing drug policy reformers (besides me) talking about hallucingens and clusterheadaches.

I am in your debt in many ways.

Good news.

It seems lately that the stories are increasing in the media.

Soon enough news of the buster methods will begin to carry on a life of its own. Bit by bit untill we all may suffer no more.

Keep the news alive.

MJ
