I received a prescription today for 9 pills for $30...costly but not too bad. Equates to about $3.50 per pill.

How does this equate to other people's insurance on this board?

Rx for 9 doses = $47.66. About $5.30 per dose.

If the stuff works for you, ask your neuro for as many samples as he or she can spare. You know, to help fill the gaps left by insurance. Yeah, that's the ticket.

My co pay is 6$. Hense about 67 cents each. It doesn't matter if it is Maxalt, imitrex injection, ns or pills, or zomig, frova, amerge, axert, etc. I got excellant insurance through my husbands work because he works for the HMO. I am so blessed.

I think mine is $60 per 9 pills.

That must be nice.....working for the HMO.....why can't they help the rest of us or at least give us the same benefits that they get? At the same time they are charging us out the ass for premiums and copays and we can't even get the prescriptions we need. Enjoy your blessings. Say a few prayers for the rest of us while you're at it.

Anyway, Supertrish - if Maxalt works for you thats great I never found it to work too well. You may want to see if you can get your hands on Imitrex.

Kel, ask your doc for generic - rhizatriptan benzoate 14.53 mg - equivalent of 10 mg maxalt melt. It is a little more than $9.00 a tablet, here in the US.
