I noticied that when i'm in series, if i donate blood, my series ends. Has anyone else had this same experience? [smiley=huh.gif] [smiley=huh.gif] [smiley=huh.gif]

Hi Franky
Jasmyn from South Africa has had a similar experience, you may want to talk to her about it

A few hundred years ago bloodletting was a common treatment for many ailments.

Even for loss of blood if wounded!  Barbers used to do it and to advertise that they did they put up the now common red and white pole...but if your barber starts cutting on your veins, get a new barber (if you want to see a real good and scary movie about 18th century barbers in London, check out "Sweeny Todd" with Ben Kingsley!).

I'm a regular blood giver in and out of cycle. (One of the advantages of lithium is that it doesn't preclude blood donations) It hasn't seemed to affect me either positvely or negatively. But then as my wife constantly reminds me, there isn't a damned thing about me that has ever been normal. I'm sending my leeches to MJ!

::)  boys.

no, redirection of blood is NOT the same as depletion.

But ...  LOL

Back to the point:  it does make sense that lowering blood pressure would help a bit.

But it only lowers your blood pressure for a short time. Within hours your pressure is back up to your normal level.

I just don't see how lowering your blood pressure for a few hours would completely end a cycle. Maybe there's some other mechanism at work.

Or one of the first seasons of SNL - Theodoric of York, Medieval Barber (Steve Martin, Bill Murray, Gilda Radner, et. al.) ;;D
