Ok I take 12x5mg prednisolone for 12 days then 6 for 4 days.

As of yesterday I am also taking Verapamil 2 X 120mg a day.

I have also just gone out & bought Magnesium & taken 1 X 250mg tab.

I have one day left to take 6 Pred which is tomorrow, so nearly at the end of this course.

I am currently going through hell with 4-5 hits per day, so do I start the pred course asgain on Sunday taking 12 for 10 day's or do you have to have a break from them?

You've said before you take pred nearly continuously, I for one am very concerned about your overuse of it. I'd urge you to see your doctor and discuss some other treatment options.

Cheers Helen, when I see him Tuesday I will ask him, im sure he said the other day continue with it if you wish, like it didn't really matter!

Is this your GP or your neuro Paul?

This is so wrong, you should be able to trust your doctors to know about what they prescribe. most dotors won't prescribe steroids for ch more than x2 a year and that's under special circumstances so its sort of freaky yours dishes them out like smarties.

Im not going to tell you what to do, I know how this bloody hurts and I know sometimes short term is all we can think of.. its a tough choice you have hon, I'm not going to "tell you off" either way so don't worry, I've told you what I think once and thats enough!

Its my GP. The neuro originally put me on them about 2 years ago.

I go back to the gp when i need more, so its the GP thats subscribes them

When did you last see your neuro? Sounds like its time for a new appt, your doctor is plain bloody lazy to just keep repeating a prescription like that as I'm pretty usre his system is throwing up warnings. You obviously need another appt with a headache specialist neuro to get some better meds on the way for you

If you do another pred taper I would consider upping the dosage on the verapamil.
