Title: DBS the Way to Go Post by CHTom on Jul 24th, 2006, 1:00am After suffering from episodic CH since 1980 and chronic since 1995, having had to take early retirement and seriously considering suicide, I took a chance and had DBS (deep brain surgery) last September in Germany and now have been virtually pain free and medication free for the past 4 months-prior to that, I was lucky to have an hour pain free time a day. The surgery is not avaiable in the US but is in Germany and Italy (I had mine done in Germany). It is expensive, about $50,000 and not covered by insurance, but it is worth it. If anyone wants information to contact the docs or other information, please send me a message. |

Could you please tell me a bit more about it, what do they do, to what part of the brain. Is the result supposed to be permanant, Enjoy your PF time----------- Cheers Roy |
