Tried it last Summer with mixed results. It did stop a couple hits. I had hoped it would be the magic bullet because DHE (i.v.) is the only thing that has worked everytime for me. Migranol is DHE. I will use it next cycle as it was helpful. It seemed to help with shadows & repeat hits I get.

The only problem was with the Insurace only covering so much per month, not enough for me in peak cycle and the stuff is like $300 for a box of 6. Funny, seeing your post made me pull out the empty box I have. One time I was getting a hit and I couldn't get the top off the bottle the tab broke. Not now! Got thru it.

Happy to hear it's working for you. Keep it going.

I have 18 doses here and never tried it.  I cancelled my order because 18 doses was 3 months worth and was going to cost me $185, but they shipped it to me after I cancelled the order... so I still have it.

I just got hit today pretty bad no I may try it tomorrow (took a triptan today, so I cant try in for 24 hours)

I tried migranol and had great sucess with it.  However, my pharmacist said my body would be much better off with imitrex in it so I switched.  However they both come in nasal spray and are both effective in the same amount of time.  So to each his own.  If it works for you that is good to have that choice.

It is my understanding that there is a higher risk of cancer associated with the use of this medication.  Just GREAT HUH?!

Stadol nasal spray is a narcotic.  It worked to abort my ch however it would knock me out cold for a couple of hours as I would sleep.  I found it creating a dependance very quickly which means I kept needing more and more to achieve the same effect.  It was very addicting also.  I would not recomend to use it if you have other alternatives such as imitrex or migranol.

Found this.

Stadol
Stadol® is an analgesic for moderate or severe pain. This formulation of butorphanol is administered every 3-4 hours either as a nasal spray or injected into the buttock or hip muscle or into a vein. Stadol® is typically prescribed for patients recovering from surgery or for migraine headaches and works by binding to the pain receptors in the brain. Since Stadol® became available in nasal spray form, abuse has increased, and more than 40 deaths have occurred. The FDA does not regulate Stadol® in most states. Butorphanol is believed to be highly addictive and if taken by a person already dependent on another narcotic, withdrawal symptoms may occur. Care must be taken to follow the doctor's instructions when taking Stadol®. Do not take a larger dose, or take it more frequently, or take it for longer than the doctor has prescribed.
