Title: Melatonin melatonin
Post by ShaneM on Jun 22nd, 2006, 1:35am
I am on my 2nd night of taking 9mg of mel 30min before bed.  the only advantage I have seen in short is that the imi toke only took 4 min and the pain only got to KIP3. I know, that in it self is pretty freakin good but is that where it stops or is it making even more of a difference for some of you?

Shane

Beast is gone for now... feelin pretty groovy... goin back to bed.

Hi Shane,

Melitonin takes a bit of time to work, just like most other preventive meds.  The purpose of the Melitonin is to prevent REM sleep.  Give it a few more days, and if this doesn't do the trick, consider adding some benadryl.

My experience has been that it keeps that first headache from coming on until I've slept 5-7 hours, which is DARN good for me. And it only reaches kip 3 or 4 and O2 will knock it right on its ass. It never keeps them from coming altogether.
