Title: Oxygen users Post by mzrolwes on Jun 10th, 2006, 9:12am I had my oxygen tank delivered last night. In my mind I was thinking it would be a little canister on wheels, you know like the kind you see people using at casinos. I was wrong. It looks like you could do some welding in my bedroom! The delivery guy was looking at me and looked at his chart and turned the flow up to 8 and said, "This is for yoU?" Then looked at my husband, "Just telling you. Don't be surprised if she starts laughing. That's a lot." I didn't think you could get a buzz from O2 but what do I know. We decided if that's true and when my cluster is over we will have an oxygen party to float the keg, so to speak. This morning when i woke up I started to feel a headache coming on so I straped on my mask and within about 15 minutes I was fine, and it never got going. I got up and made coffee and then within another 15 minutes it started to come back rapidly. I went back to my room and put the mask back on. Same thing. Now I've had it off for about 15 minutes and I feel it coming back, maybe. hard to say, but in a minute I should know. Here's my question. How long do you leave it on? I mean once you start feeling better. I feel like maybe you have to keep breathing it for a little after you feel relief to make sure it *sticks*. Its so bizarre. i can't believe it works, it truely is amazing and I'm so grateful. Also, I think I need a new mask. Mine is too big so I don't think I have tight enough of a seal on my face. The did bring me a mask that looks like the clustermax one you guys showed me, but I think it might not be exactly the same and a little too big. It says 'adult' size but I'm kind of small. Thanks in advance! Marcella |

Title: Re: Oxygen users Post by pattik on Jun 10th, 2006, 9:25am Hi Marcella, Everyone is different as to the length of time to use the O2. In fact, each headache within my cycle can vary on the time needed. But in general, I use the O2 for 5 minutes after the pain has completely gone. The fact that your headaches keep returning suggests that your LPM isn't high enough (some of us go up to 15 LPM). But if you aren't a large person as you suggested, it could very well be that your mask isn't tight enough, and you are losing O2 and getting room air in along with it. It's imperative that you breath 100% oxygen for the quickest and most effective results. Hold the mask tighter to your face, and get in an order for a clustermasx which make all the difference. http://homepages.nildram.co.uk/~tritech2/clusterx/index.html |

Title: Re: Oxygen users Post by brewcrew on Jun 10th, 2006, 9:40am Hi, Marcella - Like Patti, I go a specific length beyond the point where the pain is completely gone. For me it's 15 full breath cycles, but I'm sure it's just a "frosting on the cake" thing. Whatever works for you. Experiment. And congratulations on finding O2. |

Title: Re: Oxygen users Post by mzrolwes on Jun 10th, 2006, 9:41am I think I figured it out. I just had to use it again, but I feel better this time. The mask has two outflow spots on the sides. Only one of them has the stopper. So I tried covering the hole when I inhale and uncovering when I exhale. My rhythem isn't so good, but I got much better results this time. I'll just have to do that until my clustermasx comes. My baggie on the bottom deflated more when I covered the outflow hole so I think I was getting more oxygen that way. Seriously, though. Amazing. makes me curse my old neurologist all the more for not letting me even try. Bastard. |

Title: Re: Oxygen users Post by mynm156 on Jun 10th, 2006, 2:10pm Hi, you wont get a BUZZ from O2. The delivery guy was dork! I hope that it is your mask. There have been a few of us myself included who dont respond to O2. It will abort then come back in a few moments just like you described. Keep at it! Check out the cluster Mask and good vibes!!! Title: Re: Oxygen users Post by Barry_T_Coles on Jun 11th, 2006, 2:57am Hi Marcella I have got into the habit when I need the o2 to count the number of breaths I take before the headache goes and then breath the same amount of breaths before turning off, this works every time for me. Kind Regards Barry |

Yepper. Order a Clustermasx (http://clustermasx.com) for $25. Removes a lot of end user problems. It's just money. And canned air. Thru a tube. Kinda. RJ |
