Has anyone heard of these two suppliments being used to treat clusters? I read about them in a mirgraine article. Apparently they are sometimes effective for migraine because of their anti-inflamatory properties in the brain. One is coenzyme Q, another is butterbur (also called Petadolex). Any feedback would be appreciated. I'm heading into a cycle and am ready to try some new ideas.

I remember reading something about butterbur here a while back, but I can't remember whether it worked or not. Have you looked at kudzu?

Lizzie2 (a nurse and regular here) has tried petadolex on the advice of her doctor. She has both clusters and migraines, and petadolex has shown some promise in treating migraine. But I think we would have heard more from her if it helped her - which is not to say that it might not help others with clusters. The CoQ10 has also been shown to help w/ migraine, no word on clusters.

My doc said that at the last conference she was at, back in January, that the other docs were talking about Petadolex for CH. I guess it was the new buzz. I haven't tried it but if you do try them, keep us informed.
