Title: TERGOTAB Post by Hondoman on May 10th, 2006, 1:44pm I tried numerous medications during the past twenty years and visited numerous doctors. Nobody seemed to have a cure. Recently, a Hondurian doctor in Tegucigalpa prescribed TERGOTAB. This really worked for me. I have some in my desk at work, some in the car and some by my bed. But, it seems the occurrence is once every two years now and the length is down to a week. When I feel the headache coming on, I talk one tablet and I am good for the night. The tablets are relatively cheap, six tablets for $5.00. This works for me and is readily available here. |

Title: Re: TERGOTAB Post by Redd715 on May 10th, 2006, 2:00pm It won't even come up in a google search. Something doesn't smell right.... |

Title: Re: TERGOTAB Post by Gator on May 10th, 2006, 2:16pm From the name, it sounds like it may be Ergotamine-based. Meds are called different things in different parts of the world, could be the local equivelant to cafergot. At any rate, if it works for you, congratulations. |

Title: Re: TERGOTAB Post by Redd715 on May 10th, 2006, 2:22pm Agreed Mike, however I've entered other drug names from other countries, and it's come up in google. This one doesn't for some reason. Whatever the med, I'm glad it's helped. |

Title: Re: TERGOTAB Post by Margi on May 10th, 2006, 2:31pm that's why it's helping you, Hondoman - it's similar to Benadryl and Dramamine - it's helping you sleep. The caffiene is probably also helping you. Glad you found something that works for you. |

Title: Re: TERGOTAB Post by Hondoman on May 10th, 2006, 2:34pm Well, I hope you guys and girls find something. I have suffered for many years with these things and wouldn't wish one on my worst enemy. (Well, maybe one or two) |

Title: Re: TERGOTAB Post by Hondoman on May 10th, 2006, 2:39pm I kinda of like Margi slogan about the beer. For some reason consumption of large amounts of beer has a positive effect on my CH. Especially, on the back on the head and neck. This area gets to hurting so bad, I can't even touch it when I get a CH. Some people suggest ice packs. I found that a good drip coffee maker (no coffee) is just about the right temperature and small towel work wonders for me. But, for some reason the beer seems to help. |

Title: Re: TERGOTAB Post by Margi on May 10th, 2006, 3:15pm well, ya had me until you said that about the beer. For a lot of sufferers, beer is bad.... actually, I'm wrong - what you're taking is not like benadryl (wrong ingredient). You're taking an ergot which is well-known to be a good cluster preventative. Sorry, my mistake. |

Title: Re: TERGOTAB Post by brewcrew on May 10th, 2006, 3:55pm dihydroergotamine = DHE45 VERY effective when administered intravenously. Less effective when taken in nasal spray form (Migranal). Unsure how effective when taken orally. Never heard of it being taken orally. |
