Title: marlboro lights/ clusters
Post by ccbiggsoo7 on Apr 29th, 2006, 3:20pm
recently, my dad and grandma came down with lung cancer, i made up my mind that i was finally going to kick this nasty fucking habbitt. So to start the process i went from smoking marlboro lights to ultra lights. I continued this for about three months. I ws going on my vacation and had some shroomies stored to try. was going to go the full five days off meds and then eat em the last couple days of vacation. Never could even go 3 days with no meds before, without getting hit several times a day. anyway 5 days and was still good, got sidetracked off the shroom therapy and had to postpone, because didn't feel i was in kthe right state of mind to wig out just yet with all that was going on. Anyway have been chronic for over 10 years. have taken lith/verapamil and neurontin steady for about 8 or 9 of those, adjusting a few meds in between. anyway 5 days turned into 10 into 40 and now i have been med free and headache free for 45 days straight. I tried to change cigs before for a few weeks at a time but always went back to marlboro lights. The only thing i can figure is some kind of chemical in the marlboro lights was causing these headaches, at least now i hope so. I still haven't quit smoking yet, just switched to marlboro ultra lights. I know people have quit smoking on here before and still get them but i was a hardcore chronic that would get hit w 6 or 7 a day and usually all in the 8 to 10 kip range, and now nothing. i can't fuckin believe that they just quit after changing cigs. I guess it took the 3 months to get whatever this chemical was fully outta my system. I am not counting my eggs to fast but I sure in the hell am lookin optimistic about it. I just wanted to share my experience and if this can help 1 person out there then i feel the post is worth it. Give it a try if you smoke marlboros of any kind other than ultra lights. It might just be some kinda bad chemical reaction that is keeping some of us from living a normal life. Pain free days ahead hopefully. ....................

I'm really pleased you're getting some pain free time, thats fantastic news and gives us all a boost!
As a non smoker who never has smoked its not the magic bullet for me, but I'll keep looking for mine  :)
Knowing you've made it to PF time gives me the boost to realise I will too, one day!

I quit two weeks ago in the middle of my cycle. I was getting just hammered waiting for the zomig to kick in and well normally having a smoke would help calm me while I would pace around the warehouse and well it was like someone shoved a hand gernade up my left nostrile after I took the second drag, That was enough to convince me it was time to stop smoking.  I tried to finish the pack, but every time I have lit one up my head starts to throb.  Not sure if it is my body trying to tell me somthing or its just im my head, but I have not smoked a full cig in more then 2 weeks and well with the exception of hating the fact I can smell everything again fell pretty good about it.  It is easier to quit when you  can associate a real intense amount of pain with the habit now.

I am hoping it will help lenghten my remission cycle.  Everyone's body chemistry is different.  CC maybe you can be that guy.

It did not change the length of the cycle at all it was 30 days just like it was last time and each time before it.
