Title: Eating (or lack thereof) Post by FramCire on Jan 18th, 2006, 2:17pm Ok, informal poll please. Last night I finally gave in to the temptation to skip dinner. I had a cheese sandwitch and went to bed. I actually slept 5 hours (a cycle record for this cycle). Anyway, during the day, if I don't eat my HAs seem worse but strangely at night my HAs seem better if I don't eat dinner. I know everyone is different, but I am interested in eating advise about triggers and such. I am wiilling to try everything but Hymilayian Gobi juice and Mangosteen right now and see what works. I have figured out that chocolate is a trigger for me and I fear that too much real sugar is probably the real trigger but I have found that avoiding dinner all together at night allowed me one of my best nights of sleep. Anyway, I know I got to eat to stay healthy BUT I am interested in peoples dietary tips as to what has worked for them. I am willing to try everything since triptans and O2 are not working the best right now. |

Title: Re: Eating (or lack thereof) Post by Guiseppi on Jan 18th, 2006, 4:35pm When on cycle I can never let myself get really hungry, day or night, or I'll get a headache. My other triggers are screwing up my sleep cycles, hard alcohol, red wine and dark beer. |

Title: Re: Eating (or lack thereof) Post by jon019 on Jan 18th, 2006, 10:48pm Hi Fram, I MUST keep eating throughout day to limit hits. Keep candy in my pocket, desk, coffee table, etc. Low blood sugar? Don't know, but eating small amounts every few hours seems to help. Regards Jon |

Title: Re: Eating (or lack thereof) Post by gobby on Jan 19th, 2006, 2:13am When I'm hungry I seem to get hit the worst. A full stomach seems to help, so I usually eat something before I go to bed. |

Title: Re: Eating (or lack thereof) Post by Barry_T_Coles on Jan 19th, 2006, 3:23am CH stuffed my eating habits around that much I lost 2 stone in the three months. When I was getting hit I was just to exausted after to think about eating. Either way I dont think it made any different to the intensity or the frequency of the hits Kind Regards Barry |

Title: Re: Eating (or lack thereof) Post by sandie99 on Jan 19th, 2006, 1:27pm Sometimes salty snacks like popcorn triggered ch. Otherwise, the hits got milder after I begun to eat more healthily. I gave up sugar and it helped me, because I reacted easily to it. Sanna |

Title: Re: Eating (or lack thereof) Post by TxBasslady on Jan 19th, 2006, 2:42pm No known triggers for me. Eating ...or not, seems to matter very little as far as my CH. I haven't taken a triptan since last January. I chose to try the Kudzu...and it has worked wonders for me. I'm normally not a water drinker....but I have to say that the days I force myself to drink 3 or 4 bottles, it holds the CH down. A cup of hot tea will kick a shadow. I love this place.....you can find lots of little home remedies that are worth trying. CH is strange...in that even though we all have clusters, not all meds work the same for all. That's why it's interesting to try the off the wall remedies. You just never know what'll work. Jean |
