Title: Vibes and prayers needed for Renee Post by TxBasslady on Mar 16th, 2004, 1:11pm Renee is having such a tough time. As some of you know, Renee has CH, CPH and some problems resulting from a botched surgical procedure. She has very little pf time. The meds that work for most of us here, do not work for her. She also is a bit limited due to the fact that she has a normal bp of 90/60. After a really tough couple of days now, she is scheduled for a triple study in the morning at 10:30. She will have an MRI with and w/o contrast, and also an MRA. As with most of us, she is a bit apprehensive about the tests. She has already had an ultrasound and knows that she has a limited blood flow on the left side of her brain. Needless to say, she is a bit afraid of the results of the MRA, but she knows that this has to be done in order to get her the right treatment. If necessary, Renee will make a trip to New England Headache Clinic for treatment, thanks to Cat and OUCH and the association that has been established with the dr's there. I have assured Renee that no matter what the results, she will not be alone. I know that this CH family will send up some prayers and vibes for her and help her get thru this rough time. I will make the trip to Dallas either today or early in the morning to be with Renee when she goes thru the testing. Hopefully, her neuro can and will get the results asap and then maybe we can find out what needs to be done. I am confident that whatever is needed, Renee will have done. Thanks Jackie, and Cat for bearing with me thru this with Renee. Your support and love certainly is appreciated by me and Renee, and you both know how rough this has been. I live in Vermont so you'll be close and be able to feel my prayers coming in real strong. Just a quick question--what is an "MRA"? I don't know if this will help but for what its worth---my neurologist, Dr. David Biondi at Spaulding Rehab Hospital, is located in Boston. He's one of the best. Thought I'd just let you know in case you wanted to go neuro shopping. Many of these doc's in New England are cream of the crop. I know you'll be in good hands. Hang in there baby!!!!!!! Had the triple study today (MRI w/out contrast, MRI with contrast and MRA). Unfortunately, I got a copy of my films although I don't have a radiology report yet and neither does my neuro. AND...my neuro won't be back in the office until Friday. The unfortunate part of having my MRA films is they show an obvious bulge in my carotid artery on my left (CH) side about midway up my neck. After researching the internet tonight, they call this bulge an aneurysm. SO>>>>just to let y'all know I'M SCARED TO DEATH and have a ha on top of that! Thank God for angels like TxBassLady. She drove all the way up here to be with me during this ordeal. I think I'd be in a straight jacket by now if it weren't for her. I WANT AN ANSWER..NOW!!! What is I fall asleep tonight and have a stroke! i'm very scared! please pray for me! :'( :'( or find me a neuro that will look at these films ASAP!!! renee |

I wrote you a long "thinking of you message" but I got a 502 connection failed and it disappeared. Suffice to say, I've a candle for you with a nice bright light. My 94 year old grandmother has a bulge in the main artery just before it splits down each leg. Big artery. She has had it for years. Her arteries are much weaker than your younger one. I should here from my neuro tomorrow, hopefully, BUT....thanks to my ch family another neuro looked at my radiology reports today and said there was nothin' urgent that had to be addressed in the next few days. So, i'll hopefully hear from my neuro tomorrow and from the other neuro on Monday. thanks so much Jean and Cat and Tracy and Jackie and anyone else I left off the list!
