Title: Game On!
Post by Slammy on Mar 4th, 2004, 1:35pm
Weeelll.... It's official, fans...

The Slamhound has accepted relocation to *gulp* Raleigh, North Carolina to head up operations for my company.   Deb and Paige, We have decided to live in North Raleigh in the Wakefield area.. May need to get with ya'll to discuss good CH doctor support.  Went out house hunting and got slammed with several inches of Snow!  Nice Omen!  ::)
I regret to inform that I will not be able to attend the convention in Tennessee ( sorry Jayne!  My loss!) since we will just be settling in around that time.

I know I have not been a good cluster buddy lately, but it's been hectic with all that is going on.   Just know that I think of all of you constantly and try to lurk from time to time.  Tough to be my slammy-self lately.

It kind of sucks to uproot my family and all, but, forgive me, southern folks... it's not where we are moving to.. it's more about where we are moving from...

I'll keep yall updated.... btw... 20 grand to move all my crap to Raleigh !?!?!  I need to toss some stuff overboard!   ;;D

From earthquakes to hurricanes, huh Slammy?  Well at least with the hurricanes you get a few days notice.

Good luck with the move.  I know moving cross country is a pain in the butt, I've done it a couple of times.  It's nice when the movers come in and pack all your stuff for you though.  ;;D

Stay in touch as much as you can.  We miss you when you're not around.  :(

20 Grand to move your stuff.

You need to toss overboard whoever gave you this "quote."  Something wrong here.

Good luck though and we need your updates from time to time.  8)

When my company paid to move me to England, the entire bill wasn't more than $5000, and I moved everything I owned (which turns out to be a really stupid thing to do when you move from 110v to 220v... I had a lot of great stuff that was useless crap in England)

I wasn't paying, so it wasn't a big deal.  If YOU are paying, Slammy, you need to shop some more.  $20k is insane, unless you are actually moving your house.

Slammy,  From one Ocean to the other, huh?   I wish you good luck on the moive and in the new job.  California will miss you.

And....if that figure wasn't a typo, I'd say,

           yard sale!!!!!!!!!!!!

Isn't it North Carolina that has a state law the requires all houses to be mobile? Or is that East Virginia?

Nah.. They are paying, Fub...... but it includes moving an Escalade and a 740il beemer, which it turns out, is heavier than a tank!   :-/

Well, at least we'll be in the same time zone, Jonny!   :D

Culture shock is one thing, Bob.... I flew the boys out there so they wouldn't think they were moving to Neptune or something.....  They thought it was worse!  Way too many trees for them! LOL!  Oh well, ya do what ya gotta do..... ::)

Dang!!! SO glad to get some more testosterone here to help deal with these wimmins!!!  That Little Deb and Paige are a HANDFULL!!!  And then there is that KARYN!!!  WhooEEE!!!  Boy do I need help here!!!

Are you going to be out here in May at all?  I want to set up another meet and greet during that month.  We have yet to have a location or date, so let us know if you are going to be here at all, and we will try to work it around your dates.

(Sorry, I have to leave and hide now, as those wild wacky wimmins are probably heading my way with 2X4's, or worse!!!)

Welcome to Tar Heel territory!

Welcome to the east coast. and don't sweat those yankees and yankee wannabes. NC is a beautiful state, almost as nice as FL. And what if we say "y'all". We don't all live in trailer parks; some of us live in real houses and even have indoor plumbing.

Heheheh.... Lil Deb and Paige will be in for it when Slammy gets out there!  LOL!

Chuck I will most definitely be out there in May finalizing the house buy.  Probably the 1st or 2nd weekend in May.  It would be great to link up before I relo out there!

BTW.  I drove the boys to Wilmington to show them that there IS a beach.... what a long boring drive... they were counting all the dead critters on the side of the road!  LOL    ;;D

Leesa!  Being called Dahlin in the best southern drawl works for me! ;)
