WOW, THAT'S SOME GOAL!!!

We have a ten cent bottle and can deposit here in Michigan.  I'll push my shopping cart all the way to Nashville iff'n you're gonna be there, trenchcoat, fingerless gloves and duck- taped shoes and all.  Nice smile too! ::)

Wow Mel!

You give me hope. Good for you! I'm so impressed.

I've started the Low Carb regime this week hoping to lose 1.5 stones over the next 10 weeks or so.
I'm not doing the full hog though as I think the induction phase is unhealthy. It still seems to work for me eating fruit and veg, so I just cut out the fast food, sugar, bread, pasta, potatoes etc and usually still lose weight pretty steadily.

Giving up smoking? Mrs Gutless here says that will have to wait, but I am going to the gym and swimming.

Good luck with the next challenge you set yourself.

Wendy

what jonny said

it is stunning what you can achieve when you decide to make it so

congratulations!

the coolest thing, though, is even in your 'before' picture you can see a beautiful and happy person.  that's probably a big part of why you could pull this off in the first place.

Mast, thanks so much for the link, I'm reading it right now.  I used to have a good support forum for quitting smoking, but I lost it along with my old puter.  I remember when I had quit in 2002, it was very hard, but I did it and I KNOW I can do it again!

Fubar, it is true what you said, about how "before" I seemed to be a happy person.  I was!  I think that's why I let myself get out of control.  I didn't take care of myself because I was always taking care of my husband and kids.  Thank you for saying that.

:)

You look absolutely fabulous Mel!

So tell us how you did it?  I know it was slow and steady cause you've been working at it for awhile now :)

I'm very proud of you that was an incredible accomplishment!  Now you need to go on the discovery channel "I lost it" program!

Very wonderful pics girl!  And to think, you just had a baby  :o

Dr. Atkins.  I purchased his book, read it cover to cover, and followed the steps in his low carb plan.  I think too many people make the mistake of not reading.  I am so thankful I did because he gave me the tools I needed for maintaining my weight and health for life.  Also, this website/message board, has been my saving grace: http://forum.lowcarber.org/index.php?

:)

p.s. my username on that website is mel92, just in case anyone drops by. ;)

I DID, Mast - I know it's freaky, huh?  Out of all those posts and I was drawn to that one.  I think they're a magnetic charge between clusterheads and supporters, maybe.
302 cigarettes not smoked Michelle!!  UnFREAKINbelievable, girl!   :o  Canadian smokes are 25 to a pack - that's like TEN packs that you haven't smoked!! Of course, that's a little more than $52.91 - at 10 bucks a pack here right now, you've just saved more than $100 Canadian!!  (Not to mention your lungs :))Good for you!

yer right Margi,
special bond for sure.
They wouldn't accept the username mastifflvr28 on that site...so I had to come up with something else.  You did figure out that was me?
It's so hard to sign my posts Michelle.
Then I noticed I posted to that clusterhead again and signed it Mast, LMAO!!  She's probly going...what the hell?
Well...10$ a pack...thank God I ain't Canadian, LOL.
Sorry Mel, for hijacking your thread, I'm still proud of ya!

Thanks you guys!  And Mast, don't worry about it.  As of 9pm last night central time, I had my last cig.  I bought that "Smoke Away" kit, and this morning it's so far so good!  With that stuff, I'm not having the anxiety attacks I would normally have going cold turkey.  It's weird, everytime I get an urge to go have a smoke, that urge goes away in about 20 seconds and I remain completely calm.  I'll let ya know how I'm doing by the end of the day, ok?

;;D
