Title: Here we go
Post by magpie on Feb 25th, 2004, 3:52pm
It will be March in a few days And the monster is behind my right eye trying to get out. Dont you just hate it when you know he's there and its just a matter of time before he blows your eye out? This will be the first year I have any meds for it. Last year I diagnosed myself at the end of my cycle and  took all the info I got from this site to my doc. He did not hesitate to give me a script. So I have a bottle of caffergot, I plan to use when I need it. I suppose what I have now is what you guys call shadows (kip 2.) Should I only take this caffergot when I have a full blown attack? My pain Always goes to a 9 or 10 but only lasts about 10- 15 minutes. So I know Im lucky and only twice have I  had them twice a year, usually its only March or April for a couple weeks. I know how much worse it could be, By dropping in on this site every now and then. Just to let every one of you know that I have gone thru this since I was about 18 (20 yrs) and always thought it was a brain thing and it would eventually kill me, You all gave me hope and a name for it and help Thank you.

Sorry to hear the beast is rearing it's ugly head again. Hope it's a short cycle.
Can't say anything about starting on the Caffergot now. That's something you need to talk to your doc about.

Hey Mag,
Consider oxygen. If it works for you it's a salvation. Just do it rifht, 10 lpm   withe a non-rebreather maskfor 5 to 15 minutes  If it hasn't worked by then, it probably wont. Do stay in touch.
Kip
