Title: Head bangin again
Post by nina on Feb 21st, 2004, 10:12am
Long time since I've seen the website.  Sure has changed alot.  Well if you haven't figured out by now THEY'RE BAAAACKKK!!!  Botox is new to me.  Has it worked for anyone? I've been on every med you can think of for preventative measures.  Even went to the Diamond Headache Clinic in Chicago for a month of Histamime treatments but all I got from that was a 40,000 bill & upon coming home I was awarded another hospital 2 week vacation here in Indy for 2 blood clots 1 in the left jugular vein and the other in the sub-clavian! Oxygen is my drug of choice It's actually my best friend. I have had microvascular decompression surgery on my head- had some relief but as we all know most ch sufferers get some relief after having some sort of surgery why of course know one knows or cares really. I even let them zap the shit out of my brain (like an idiot) with gamma radiation and I now have a numb face but still feel the beasts rage! So botox is new someone enlighten me-- sorry if I laugh though.

Well, as long as youkeep laughing... lol

Botox has been used by some, but not many here, and with indifferent results. You may well be a lucky one.

Yopu may want to check the shroom route at

I tried botox.  It did nothing for my ch but helps stop my migraines from breaking through so I use it for that.

Hi Nina,
Don't understand; if O2 is working why screw around with meds and other things that can really screw you up? But if O2 isn't doing the job I'd take Ave's advice and look into the shrooms.

O2 only works for me when I get to the CH before it gets to a certain point.  My CH start behind my eye and then I feel the pain moving around to my cheek area.  Then before I know it my whole left side of my head is engulfed in pain.  During the day when I am awake I can usually abort the CH with O2.  Night is a different story.  Besides I want something preventative. Not looking for meds to mask the pain.  I just want the dang things to stop.  I remember reading some about the shrooms but I have concerns about that idea. I definitely need more info.  As for as me not being here for others thats not the case.  I have stayed in touch with several people I've met through the website.  We just choose not to post everything we speeak about.  There are about 17 of us who choose not to deal with all the little snippy comment some choose to do.  We would much rather be supportive of each other and leave the negative feelings and thought for those who bathe in it.  Thanks for sharing though!

Research this site: www.clusterbusters.com

You'll have to be the judge whether or not to try it.

Good luck to you,
