Just wanted to thank everybody for all the good vibes, I've passed them all along to Mikey. His GP put him back in the hospital this afternoon to try to give him some kind of break from the hell he's been in. The first doctor he saw after going in was a real doozie. You all are familiar with the neurologist that doesn't have a clue about CH's? She didn't speak English very well, so she was hard to understand, but we did get the parts about if you would stop drinking sodas, admit that you were abused as a child, stop smoking, do acupuncture and hypnosis, pray, loose weight, and get happy you wouldn't have this problem. OMG! Thought Mike was gonna throw his Mountain Dew bottle at her! He did actually gig her behind his back though. [smiley=finger.gif] The nurse was in shock over things she said. Oh, and I forgot the part of "I'm Polish, your lucky you're seeing me. I have a different outlook on how to treat you" [smiley=mad.gif] Can you all believe that crap!?! Needless to say we are going with the GP's orders for meds and such.

Well, thanks again for all the well wishes, they mean so much to us. ;) Hope he'll be home and having some pain free time soon.

Not trying to be funny, but I think she deffinatly proved that she was Polish.... I am so sorry that he is in pain and having to deal with idiots on top of it. (Well at least one rally big frigging idiot.) I hope that he gets some releif soon.

Hi everybody, just wanted to give you a quick update. Just got home from the hospital, Mike's doing ok, just really stressed and aggravated from spending a day and a half trying to get his screwed up meds straightened out. That stupid neuro that he saw yesterday had taken one of his meds away that his GP has had him on for quite sometime, originally it had been left off of the original orders from the GP, they got it fixed this am then she came in right behind them and took it off!! Had to call the GP and he fixed it again, and put the order in to have her totally removed from having anything to do with Mike's care. She also added Neurontin after we told her he had been on it before and had really bad side effects with no effect on the CH at all, so when they brought in it, he refused to take it. His GP was so pissed of at all of this. The GP is also talking about sending him back to UNC Chapel Hill as an inpatient but I don't think Mike is much up for that, from what the doc there said last time there's not more there that they can do for him that they're not doing here.

Oh well, trying to keep our spirits up. Hard to do though. Mike sure wishes he had a laptop, he would be burnin' your ears up 'bout now!

I spoke with Mike a few minutes ago.

He is pretty doped up right now with morphine and crap. He has some trouble following a thought thru from his brain to his mouth. I told him he doesn't seem to be much dopier than normal. He then called me a few obsenities, I wonder why? heehee! He sure had no trouble getting those words out!

They are trying to get him some relief from the pain. They are discussing the DHE drip, which he has not had tremendous success with, in the past, but feels it is worth trying again. AND, as Kim told us, he is dealing with an idiot neuro, something NONE of us have ever done, have we? (NOT!)

He is a bit frustrated and bored, as all of us have been when we were in his position. He is hoping he can borrow a laptop in there so at least he can chat with his family here.

Keep the good vibes coming, he really appreciates it, and means a lot to him.

I will be talking to him again.
