    TURN IT UP!

 Hot Rod   (http://members.chello.nl/~c.vandetillaart/videos/jimmywhitevideo.wmv)

"The Hemi powerplant was already in it, but it had different exhaust manifolds and only two Stromberg 97's. All that has changed, it now has open headers and runs 6 rebuilt Stromberg 97's on top of a Weiand Drag Star intake manifold. The headers that are mounted now are made by Jimmy, about 3 or 4 years ago he told me.

The block is an early 331cui that is bored 0.125 inches by Reath Automotive. The heads are 354 industrial pieces. The valves are original ones, which are actuated by an original Sig Erson top fuel solid lifter cam, which is reground by Clay Smith. Further, the motor runs a stock crank on which Jahns pistons with a 10.5:1 compression are mounted.

All this is backed by a McLeod clutch and an early cast iron Borg Warner T-10 transmission, a custom Unitrax driveshaft and a tri-year Chevy rearend. 8 Inch Hurst cheaterslicks on '49 Chevy steelies bring the power to the road and up front Good Year Speedgrips can be found on Halibrand spindle-mount wheels.

Do you see any front brakes..? Nope….!"

I Love second gear!   My Favorite new band.

Thanks Mark.

My older brother is a mechanic and he and his friends made race cars back when gas was 35 cents a gallon.  As a kid I use to love to ride in their cars and get pinned to the seat.

Thanks for the memories.  I always laughed during the backdraw.  What a thrill.

All i can say is WOW!!!

My next-door neighbor for years had a '66 Chevelle up until about 5 years ago.

$18,000 CDN in the drive-train alone.  Over 600hp.

He couldn't afford to finish it and ended up selling it at a HUGE loss when he got married.

The moron he sold it to had to go and part it out.    >:(

Brings back memories,
grant

Too cool.  Made my heart race just to watch it.

As long as we're on the subject of cars... who here has a hot rod of their own?  I have my daily driver, a 406hp BMW M5, and a 1956 Ford F-100 that's not exactly a hot rod, but it's got some juice.  The M5 is a dream car, 400 base horse power with all the luxory of a high end car.  Room for 5, and 0-60 in 4.3 seconds.  YEEEE Haw.

I'm in the middle of building a street rod. '27 roadster body, Model A fenders/runningboards, deuce grill, pro street, 320hp crate motor and 19 inch wide Mickey's on the rear. Only room for 2 (and ya better be friendly).

Hit the loud pedal and drive til your nose bleeds!

Hey BL..........That "Paul's Pro Street"...is that a lawn mower?

Its an old Murry riding mower. I used to cut the lawn with it when I was a kid. It now does over 45 mph. My father may have a little to much spare time on his hands.lol

Thank you guys added those two sites listed in this thread. Also sent sites to best friend he had a stroke years ago and his hobby now is doing custom paintjobs on models he builds. Think those sites will give him great idea's. Told him to e-mail you with any custom he does from your sites. Wow I love cars and trucks and even lawnmower's. Terry
