Title: Oh really sad today…. I just lost a friend... Post by ZAIRA on Jan 27th, 2004, 11:56am My dog Alba (4 years old) :'(. I have 4 dogs but I am sure I will miss her terribly… Alba was a wonderful and affectionate Rottweiler girl who loved to kiss your hands and face! I have a “bond” with my animals and it is inexplicable, they are unconditional in their love, and seem to sense when I need them the most. And the hurt is deep when you lose one. She was a beautiful dog but then I'm partial to Rottweilers ;) Maybe this will help. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart. "Doggies go to heaven, to run and jump and wait for us to live the rest of our lives...." A year ago, the baby tree in our back yard died due to a lawn mower incident, and my son asked if trees go to heaven too. "Umm, yes?!?" (Well, that's what I told him) So, I pulled the baby tree up, roots and all, and threw it over my back fence, and then I put the tree out of my mind. My back fence butts up to the woods, and makes a good natural trash-bin..... Later that day, I caught my son building a contraption of boxes and toys, to climb that fence and peek over.... When I saw my son, I yelled at him. He said he just wanted to look at heaven and see if he could see Sasha... My son deduced that heaven was behind our fence, and he still missed his dog..... We never forget our dogs!!! Take care, Brad p.s. I'm still working on the whole "death" issue with him... :-/ |

I too know the depth that our hearts can go for our furry friends. My girl is 15 1/2, and I have been dreading the day for years. Thankfully, she is still by my side. Big hug to you. Just a 2 months ago, when I was in hospital, she rejected food as she couldn't see me anymore. We understood that this was the reason why when I came back home, she unexpectedly started to eat again..... I'll miss her very much and her death has left a great void that I'll try to fill with my others dogs... This is the rest of our Rottweiler's family. My 2 young dogs are lying right beside me, licking my hand when I put it down. I lost my 15 year old little boy 2 years ago and I could barely breathe through the tears when I had him put down. That's the one issue I will chat with God about someday. How can something so precious have such a short life? What a sad, sad day for you. My dogs at times give me the unconditional love that I really need when no one eles seems to give a damn. They dont aruge back, they dont lie, they dont mis lead, they just love you and lick ya to death! Know that I feel your pain and my thoughts and prayers are with you.
