Title: News on one of our MIA Post by Jackie on Jan 22nd, 2004, 6:28pm OneEyeBlind (Nancy) will be off the board for awhile. She is fine but her hands are very full right now and she doesn't feel she can be very supportive at this time. She will check in from time to time and when things are less hectic for her she'll be back full force... :) Her husband, Red, has started another round of treatments for his Hep C. The treatments are tough and will last approximately 48 weeks. Nancy isn't working now and that's good as he will need her full time attention. Christopher is doing better. He has a feeding tube and is getting better nutrition. He has two more rounds of chemo (I think she said two) and then he should be ready for the stem cell replacement. Nancy's head is behaving (no CH), her spirits are good and she still has her sense of humor. The family is strong and are hanging tough through all this. I'm sure we will all continue to keep them in our thoughts and prayers. Jacks 8) |

Title: Re: News on one of our MIA Post by Jackie on Jan 31st, 2004, 4:45pm I just spoke with Nancy/OneEyeBlind. Here's the latest..... Her hubby has completed week 3 of his HepC treatment. He's experiencing some problems with his white blood cells bottoming out and is quite ill....lost 22 lbs. in 2.5 weeks. He's holding his own.....45 more weeks to go. Christopher won't be able to have the stem cell replacement. So they are looking at other options. I'm not sure what those are at this time but will keep you all posted. Now to top it all off Nancy's Dad is in the hospital and while being treated for something else had a mild heart attack and has developed pneumonia. I'm sure they could use all the vibes, positive thoughts and prayers we can send. Bless their hearts Jacks 8) |
