Title: Sorry if I was rude, any memory problems??
Post by achinghead on Mar 21st, 2003, 9:28am
I have been here for about 3 weeks or so now and I honestly cant remember if I formally introduced myself. Thats a topic I was going to post too.. does anyone have any memory problems associated with their CH's? Seems that for the past 3-4 yrs I have had lots of problems with remembering.. could it be because im approching 40 or is it due to thes CH's? Anyhow,,, Im 39 and male.. been having these for 16 yrs now.. Ive tried alot of dif meds from amitryptline to prednisone to verap. The amitrypt. seemed to work the best for maintenance but the side affects were not good for me. It made me very tired along with blurred vision. The prednisone worked but its not a maintenance med. Im considering the 0-2 but of course my ins. wont cover that.. dont ask me why. Im an ECH person. My cycles have lasted anywhere from 3 weeks to 3 months and for the first 14 yrs only came every 18 mths apart.. Now it seems they are more frequent. Im into 4 weeks of this cycle with the last cycle being this past Sept. Mine are usually KIP-10's in a matter of minutes however this cycle here seems to be a little different even with the timings. This past week Ive had them at various times with 4 days in a row of them starting within 30 minutes of me waking up. They usually come at night like most of you  so I find the morning ones unusual. I had one at 3pm and again at 1am and then again at 4 am this morning. I do take the imitrex inj. I dont know if Id still be here without them. Well. thats a generalization of my history. I could go on but dont want to get into boring ya all. I would appreciate any feedback on the memory thing as this does concern me. My neurologist doesnt seem to be overly concerned about it.
One more thing.. In the past few weeks I have learned more from here than the entire 16 yrs of dealing with these.  THANK YOU ALL !!!!

Yes, I have had a bit of memory problem.  I attribute my memory problems to the meds....my family blames senility.  Guess it's just a coin toss.  I'm not giving up the meds to find out!!!! ;) ;D

Welcome again achinghead, go get yourself some 02.  It's very inexpensive, and works extremely well.  Lots cheaper than trex, with no side effects.

Hi Achinghead,

Sorry if I'm rude but perhaps you are growing old - like me.
If I'm right the brain is growning old not only the body.

My Husband tells me that I tell him things like 3 times, I don't even remember.

I go down stairs to do laundry and when I get there I have no idea why I am there.

I feel like I am going crazy........

But 7 days pain free...... nothing better than that......

Seriously, I've had memory problems, no doubt for more than 40 years because of anti-convulsant medication. I don't think CH has had an effect on my memory.

Or something......http://www.headachesupportgroups.com/echat43/talking.gif
